New guide for HEIs procuring research management systems
We've launched a new online guide to help UK higher education institutions (HEIs) through the complex process of procuring research management systems.
Our procuring a research management system guide can help with the purchase of repositories and current research information systems (CRISs) and aims to support repository managers, library and research managers, IT leads, and heads of procurement.
The guide provides step-by-step support on planning, evaluating, and selecting research systems. It also highlights common pitfalls and offers strategies to streamline procurement processes, drawing on our extensive experience of supporting the sector in the procurement of digital systems.
The guide is freely available online and will be updated regularly in response to sector feedback and procurement legislation developments.
Liz Bal, director of research management products at Jisc, said:
“Selecting the right research management system is a pivotal decision that shapes the efficiency, integrity and success of an institution’s research efforts. This guide is designed to demystify the process and empower teams to make choices that align with their research goals and operational needs.”
