This is the first in of a planned series of online briefings providing opportunities for those leading, or directly affected by merger projects to share experiences, learn lessons and benefit from peer support.
Briefings will include guest speakers from the further education (FE) sector sharing their experiences and best practice, information on the support we can offer to colleges going through the merger process, and an opportunity for participants to ask questions and discuss issues relating to mergers.
In this first briefing you will hear about the support processes and first hand experiences from colleges who have already gone through a review process leading to merger. You will also hear experiences of going through a successful merger including tips to consider and pitfalls to avoid.
Who should attend
Staff from further education who are about to embark on, or have already begun the merger process.
Those working in IT departments with responsibility for network infrastructure and systems, as well as those working in technology-enhanced learning are likely to benefit.
Following the online briefing, delegates will:
- Be aware of and better understand the support we offer to colleges who are merging
- Be able to take best practice and advice from successful mergers back to their own college
- Be able to contribute to a network of peers facing similar issues
