Role

I apply statistics and machine learning to currently student data in order to make predictions about a student's journey through academia.

Background

I studied physics at the University of Manchester doing a masters in technological physics and eventually a PhD in photon physics. In my PhD I studied light emitting diodes (LEDs) and how the materials they are made of affect performance.

I then worked in Oldham for a company called Innovative Technology which specialise in bank note and coin validation. Mainly, I was involved with algorithm and infrastructure development.
