I am a user experience specialist working within the digital resources directorate, specifically working on our open access services. Working in collaboration with service development teams, I carry out user research and design interfaces, websites, functionality and information architectures.
I bring a user-centred design approach, enabling us to ensure our new and existing services are optimised to our users’ needs, and are helpful, engaging, and easy to use. Working closely with colleagues across Jisc, my work helps maintain our position as providing an effective, and consistent digital experience.
My career has focused on technology, education, and the connection between the two. I spent many years providing guidance to institutions on effective ways to integrate emerging digital technologies into the teaching and learning environment.
I moved into the world of web, where I focused on creating digital experiences for social good, for small businesses, and a great deal within HE. While working on web and digital experiences within higher education I decided to formalise and grow my knowledge in the field, undertaking an MSc in Informatics in 2014, where I found an opportunity to apply my industry and academic knowledge at Jisc.
