Background

My main interests are library catalogues and other databases, in terms of their data and data standards, their usability and their position as a part of the wider information infrastructure for end-users and library/information staff.

I’m also interested in exploring ways of gaining additional benefits from catalogue data as a source of collection information and other management information through collaborative activity.

My background is in information retrieval, which was the focus of my past research and teaching at the Department of Information and Library Studies, University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP).
