Leo Mack

Open science interoperability senior analyst

Role

As part of Jisc’s digital futures team, I work on the EU-funded projects OpenAIRE-Connect and European Open Science Cloud Pilot, developing practical solutions to support the transition to Open Science. I focus on identifying and prototyping next generation services which help universities and research institutions participate in European and transnational research. This involves the exchange of research (meta-)data, repository management, and automated policy compliance through machine-readable policies.

Background

An alumnus of the Oxford Internet Institute, I have an interdisciplinary background in data-driven innovation; information economics, law and policy; as well as R&D project management. Previously, I worked at the Open Data Institute and Nesta, among other things advising the European Commission on data science skills training, working with governments to establish open data initiatives, and building a Europe-wide research network for the digital economy.
