Jisc is helping to ensure the UK remains at the forefront of innovation within UK education and research – by mobilising the very best people and technologies in the application of digital thinking, digital content and connectivity.
It’s our vision to enable the UK to become the most digitally-advanced education and research nation in the world. It’s a bold statement, but one that we’re determined to fulfil.
About the role
If you know about Jisc already, you’ll have heard of our world-class, high-speed Janet Network which supports the UK’s education and research sector with a highly-reliable and secure network. Its backbone capacity is soon rising to 600Gbit/s and supports collaborative research worldwide.
Working as part of the lively service delivery team, providing an excellent customer experience, this role will take responsibility for managing orders from customers requiring Janet network connections, working with circuit suppliers, internal stakeholders and customers, to ensure that the installation is completed on time and within budget.
You’ll love being organised and will be comfortable multi-tasking. You’ll be used to being accountable for your work and taking ownership of tasks at a variety of stages.
You’ll need to have very strong communication skills. You’ll be maintaining communication with customers and suppliers throughout the order and installation process to ensure they are fully informed of the progress of their connection.
Ideally, you’ll already have experience of working in a service delivery environment and have a good general knowledge of technology, with a preference for being involved in networking and connectivity.
However, it’s your attention to detail and great customer service skills that will really stand out. We want our customers and suppliers to feel like they’re receiving a highest-standard of service from the moment that they first start dealing with Jisc.
Jisc’s environment and culture will be supportive to your development as well as providing you with the freedom to complete the role in the way that your experience allows.
This is a great opportunity to launch the next stage of your career and to work on a genuinely world-class product. The Janet Network is recognised globally and it’s something we’re incredibly proud of.
