About the role
This role is within our digital resources directorate which supports teaching and research in UK higher and further education by enabling the widest and most unrestricted access to extensive collections of knowledge and information resources in many formats. In addition, the division provides services to aid the organisation of information and the interpretation of information needs.
Responding to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) mandate to support the employability agenda, as well as the other nations’ agendas for further education and skills, the directorate provides a cluster offer of services and tools via appropriate digital platforms that ensure relevant and up-to-date content/digital resources (learning resources, OERs and licensed reference resources, e-books) meet a number of criteria.

This post sits within the cluster supporting digital content for further education and skills.
Our new team member needs to be able to:
- Provide expert knowledge and intelligence of curricula in order to develop and enhance skills-based content services that support the learning and teaching objectives within the skills sector, namely e-books for further education, hairdressing training, health and social care training and Citizen Maths.
- Research and keep up to date with the qualifications framework and potential changes in curricula, either driven through by government or by awarding bodies, to inform the development of new services and the enhancement of existing ones.
- Provide effective operational support of skills-based content services that support the learning and teaching objectives within the skills sector, namely e-books for further education, hairdressing training, health and social care training and Citizen Maths. The post holder will take forward liaison and promotional activities determined to increase uptake and usage of the services and to embed them within the sector.
- Support procurement activities for e-books and learning resources using knowledge and experience of the further education and skills sector, as well as the needs of tutors, learners and the learning resource centre.

This role will be based in our Manchester office on Oxford Road (about a five-minute walk from the station).
Jisc is a geographically-distributed organisation and travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays will be required.
