Artificial intelligence

Embrace artificial intelligence (AI) with confidence.

Supporting human-led education

Artificial intelligence is at the forefront of a changing landscape in tertiary education. From personalised learning pathways to automated administrative tasks, AI promises to redefine teaching and learning for learners and practitioners alike. But harnessing the full potential of AI isn’t without its challenges – both ethical and technological – which need careful navigation.

Thanks to the support of a growing community of innovative and forward-thinking experts from across the UK’s education sector, we have developed resources and conducted pilots to support you and your path to effective and responsible use of AI in education.

LearnWise

Status: ongoing

LearnWise is an AI-powered platform designed to streamline students' access to support services. Our fifteen participating colleges and universities are currently trying out Learnwise to assess how AI assistants aid their users, while improving support and content management workflows at an institutional level.

Image generation

Status: ongoing

Through our new use case-based pilot model, student and staff participants are exploring image generation using a range of tools including ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly and Canva. They are working to identify valuable use-cases for image generation in education whilst increasing understanding of the limitations and ethical considerations surrounding these tools.
