About
UKRI’s open access policy for long-form scholarly works, including monographs, book chapters and edited collections was launched on 1 January 2024. This is an entirely new policy, long form outputs having never previously been included, and as such it has been a period of change for UK research organisations with UKRI funded authors.
In this webinar, three institutions will share how they prepared for the policy, including the main challenges they faced, and how they developed and adapted their workflows and processes to meet the new requirements. They will share insights gained and lessons learned so far and discuss how they are approaching open access monographs more widely.
This webinar will help those who support open access at their institutions (but have perhaps not yet had to apply to both stages of UKRI’s fund for support with open access costs) and enable library staff to come together to discuss best practice, learn from each other, and share ideas and experiences. There will be the opportunity to ask questions at the end.
Speakers:
- Steve Carlton, research services coordinator, University of Manchester
- Martin Wolf, head of open research, University of Liverpool
- Wendy Taylor, open research coordinator (publishing), University of Salford
